Seasons greetings to you all..

 

Unfortunately, due to lack of support, the Handicap tournament at the end of last month had to be cancelled. It was a pity due to the number of registered players (over 80) that we have in the league, that we were unable to attract sufficient entries. It is hoped that the League tournament next year will be better supported.

 

Pramastars still have a spare table-tennis table. No money is required, just a small donation to Cancer Research. Please contact Colin Bullworthy (c.bullworthy@ntlworld.com) for further information.  

 

Faith Frankel of HRC has asked us to pass on that the entrance route to the Sports Hall at Hertford Regional College has altered due to the construction/demolition works being carried out. The normal path from the car-park will take you past the front door of the Sports Hall and around the new building to the left. Enter the main college via the glass doors, the receptionist will allow access to the building. Walk straight through the building and after exiting turn left for the entrance to the Sports Hall. As the works are ongoing this route to the main building may continue to change, many apologies and hope this doesn't cause you all too many problems.

This newsletter contains the usual mix of results and tables together with the next round of the Handicap Cup, due to be played w/c 4^th January 2010.

 

As explained before, I am quite happy to accept results by email (hopefully I will be able to open them) and as always if anybody in your team who wants to be added to the newsletter group, please let me have their email address.

 

In the league, newly promoted Grundy Park I trail leaders Cheshunt I by four points, having lost 6-4 to the leaders and drawn 5-5 with current champions Hoddesdon I who are a further two points behind, but have a game in hand. The rest of the league is close with just eleven points separating Hoddesdon II in fourth and joint bottom HRC I and County Hall. It is much clearer in Division 1, Hoddesdon III having dropped just three points in 6 matches, Joe Scibetta unbeaten in 15 and Bryan Gates and Kevin Gray having lost one and two games respectively.

In the Handicap cup, Hoddesdon III from Division 1 beat Premier side County Hall 5-4 but the result of the round was HRC II thrashing Division I leaders Cheshunt I 9-0.

The next round of the Handicap cup is week commencing 4^TH January 2009
