Latest update 11th November

NEWSLETTER NO. 3 - October 2009

Greetings to you all.

May I remind you that the Hertford  Handicap championship is on 29th November this year. Entry is free. Please download the attached form (in Word from HERE or as a web page from HERE) and send to either Rita, Joe, or me so we have an idea of number of entries. The venue is Waltham Cross Youth Centre, Stanhope Road. 10am start.

If anybody wants a table-tennis table or knows any club/youth club/church etc that does, Pramastars have one. No money is wanted but a small donation to Cancer Research would be appreciated. The table is probably the oldest in the league. From personal experience I can confirm it is heavy and the person who wants it must arrange collection. In return you will be getting a genuine antique. If you need any further info, please contact me.

Faith Frankel of HRC has asked me to pass on that the entrance route to the Sports Hall at Hertford Regional College has altered due to the construction/demolition works being carried out. The normal path from the car-park will take you past the front door of the Sports Hall and around the new building to the left. Enter the main college via the glass doors, the receptionist will allow access to the building. Walk straight through the building and after exiting turn left for the entrance to the Sports Hall. As the works are ongoing this route to the main building may continue to change, many apologies and hope this doesn't cause you all too many problems.

Apologies for any confusion regarding the first round of the Divisonal Cup played week beginning 5th October. Changes to the fixtures were needed and unfortunately some teams were not notified on time.

On the subject of the Divisonal Cup, can I remind all team captains that each divisional pool is a mini league. Each game is a point and the team with the most number of points wins the mini league. Therefore all nine games must be played in each match, unlike the handicap cup where the first to five games wins the match. In short, points win prizes!

All league results that I have received are shown below. If you don’t want to trust the vaguaries of the postal system, you can email me results.

Although it is early days, promoted Grundy Park I have made a good start in the premier division, although Cheshunt I and champions Hoddesdon I are just behind, both with a game in hand . In Division 1, Pramastars are leading, although again HRC II and Cheshunt IV are close behind with Hoddesdon III having maximum points from their only match so far..

Once again, if you know of anybody that wants to be added to the mailing list, let me know their email address and I will add them to the distribution list.
